Freeburn 2004 Bay Thoroughbred Gelding Retired sound from the track in October 2009 and has completed 2 months of retraining. He very social and is always the first to greet you in the pasture. He does very well with daily turnout. He is respectful to his handler and follows body language queues to halt etc, and continues to improve. He completely aims to please and doesn't want to do wrong; therefore very quiet, subtle corrections are all that are ever needed. "Espresso" as his foster home calls him, is working well under saddle. He walks, trots and canters quietly. He also works well inside or outside and we feel he is a very nice hunter prospect. There are thousands of Thoroughbreds born each year, some have some famous ancestors. We thought it would be fun to take a look at the famous ancestors of some of the FFI horses. Enjoy! Seattle Slew (1974 - 2002) FFI's Horses with Seattle Slew in their pedigrees:
Flirt participated in her first dressage show on Saturday, March 6th. She competed at Intro A & B and earned scores of 7s and 8s on both tests earning a first and second place. Both classes had over 5 horses entered. We're very proud of her! But the big news is that Nicole Pearson, owner of Foxton Farm, has adopted Flirt and plans to add her to her string of show horses. Nicole first noticed Flirt at a schooling H/J show hosted by Foxton. Flirt's training rider had entered Flirt in the 2' hunters. Flirt performed beautifully and although the fences were low height, she showed off her power and scope. Nicole sealed the deal on Saturday by trying her out under saddle and letting FFI reps know that this was a mare she had to have. We're thrilled about the adoption and very excited to watch Flirt blossom as a show horse. Congrats to them both! More pictures of Flirt in the dressage ring can be found here. |

Big Congratulations to Flirt!
